Docman how to upload a new document
How to upload and display a new document in joomla using docman. Something we get asked often becuase user only occasionally do it.
We have developed a step by step guide to this.
The concept is :
There is your file and there is a database entry to be created to point to this file.
Start by uploading your document
Click "Files" and then "Upload" in the top-right corner.
Select the Upload Option
Click "Next>>>"
Upload Your file from your Laptop / PC
Browse to find your file on your pc and then click "Submit"
You now need to make an entry in the database for this new file.
If you want to publish and approve right now, check "Approved" and "Published" are set to "Yes". Then click "Save".
Makesure that Your Document is Created
Your new document will appear as above.
Make a Menu Link to Docman
Go to Menus >> Main Menu >> click on "New" >> choose "Docman". Choose a title for your menu link and click "Save".
View Docman On the Front of Your Site using your new menu item created.
It is also possible to link the document from within article. This requires the docman plugin for your editor.
