the latest browser from the Google stable has been born. But why ? Google already support firefox with funding to develop their browser. But Firefox is opensouce and would be some what more ethically based in its apprach to how it operates. Google have decided for their own reasons they will release a new browser.
It comes with the regular google trimmed down low fat application approach. It has some difficulties with sites that render correctly in all other browsers.
some pro's
- its damn fast.
- is is stable for a V1.0 product.
- cosmetically its cleaner looking.
some con's
- its no add ons like firefox.
- its not standards compliant so some sites appear broken.
- its feeding back data to the google mother ship, it does allow you to browse incognto.
Will it become the next bg thing, I think it has shown the browser market that its about to get so fragmented its not going to be a world of 3 browsers anymore. In 3 years time we will have 100's of branded browsers for free download because they are the single best way of collection that all important browsing data and in more detail too.
Remember the mantra, information is power. It was never more true.
