We offer click fraud detection services. It works too. We have achieved refunds from leading search engines for fraudulaent clicks on our clients sites. We add some tracking cookies to our clients pages. When some one repeat clicks from google onto this page there is a notification displayed on their browser that they have been clicking too much from google. The notice is polite and indicates they are really not proving anything except pushing the price of the click service up for themselves and everyone else. We get the notification by email the second the event happens. We then have a look at the ip address and we might be lucky and find the owner, then again we might be up against some one clicking from different browsers at different times. As the months go by we collect more information and a pattern emerges. We notify google of what we have found. We notify the owner of the ip address that we are seeing some strange behaviour. The owner of the ip address has an obligation once notified of some one on their system tampering with a site to find who it is and stop them. In the mean time google investigate the suspicous clicks and issue a refund. It works and it is effective. The end result, you get a refund for the fraudulent clicks and you help google stamp it out. What's in it for the fraudster, they help google to charge them more, and to find out exactly what they are up to and prevent the rest of the world from doing it. So the fraudster is helping research for free too. Meanwhile google pay the advertiser with a refund of the fraudulaent clicks they have not spotted. |
